• Bamboo Poles - The Progress Trading web page might suck but they've got good, kiln dried, fungicide treated, Tonkin bamboo. 
  
  The shipping on longer lengths is steep (ground freight) so you'll want to order the maximum number of bundles they'll ship in a trip to diffuse the cost. (Normally 3 or 4.) If you do, expect to pay about $250 (total) for 100-125 sticks.  (That works out to between 2 and 3 dollars a stick.)
   
  The diameters you want are 25-30 mm for up to 9 ft polearms.  Order the longest length in that size range as trimming down lets you "select better quality lengths."  Normally, a bundle in this size category is 50 pieces.
   
  9-12 ft poles should be based on bamboo who's minimum diameter range is 30 mm.  A bundle in this size range is a 25 count.  I've never ordered a 35-40 mm bundle before; they come in 15 ft lengths.
• IRCA - The Interkingdom Rules Committee for Amtgard.  If you're a member of the EH, GP, IM, MS, VSR, or WL Amtgard groups this stuff applies to you.  (If you're from elsewhere why hasn't your Kingdom joined?)
• Justicars - The Amtgard fighting company to which I belong.
• Kingdomality - What is your medieval vocational personality?
• Pactiv - Shield Foam.  Even if this company can't directly help find some foam in your area, at least you'll leave with the correct terms to call your local foam supplier.  Often they will refer you to one.  When discussing orders make sure you let them know that you'll pick up the foam (as this is NOT normally a retail product).
   
  Buzzwords to live by: H-Cell, Laminated Plank, 2 inch, white, density 1.7. (Laminated is better than non-laminated. Densities greater than 1.7 are heavier than needed and tend to be too firm.)  When in doubt mention ASTROLAM.
   
  On a more local note: Shield foam can be bought from FOAM FABRICATORS, INC., 11650 Emerald St., Dallas Tx, 75229, 972-241-0096.  No minimum order as long as you buy full, uncut, 48x108 inch sheets ($34.00 each in early 2003).
• Swords and Armor - Online store for "real" swords and armor.  (I don't really know if this site is worth telling you all about, It's not my cup of tea.  If you know of better places for me to link to, let me know.)
• World Banner Wars - Going into its fourth year, this is the place to go to for details regarding Amtgard's only full class, put-up or shut-up, tournament.  Held at Tanglewood Forest (in Silver City, TX) this is the Emerald Hills' annual inter-kingdom event.
